                       about me

As a child I was fascinated by playing the drums and as a 12 years old guy, I got my first lessons at a local music-school in my hometown Karlsruhe. I soon became a member of our school-band and we had our first public concert when I was 13.

Afterwards I had private teachers like Rolf Mattern and Johannes Fries who taught me a lot.

Later a visited workshops at Hans-Peter Becker’s Modern Music School in Kaiserslautern with Billy Cobham (Jazzdrummer from Panama), Joey Heredia ( a musician from Mexico), Manfred  van Bohr (editor-in-chief of the magazin “Drums and Percussion”) and other professional drummers.

But my dream was to visit the MI in Los Angeles. That dream became true and from September 1991 on I studied there for one year with teachers like Ralph Humphrey, Joe Porcaro, Steve Haughton, Efrain Toro, Walfredo Reyes jr., Phil Maturano - all of them absolute top-stars of the drum and percussion scene.

After passing the final tests with excellence and back in Germany I became a professional drummer, studio musician and a teacher.

You’ll find a lot of informations on the other pages of my site. Just look around, listen to the audio-clips and watch the videos on www.youtube.com!
